His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso

Our Spiritual Director

Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche

Welcome!

Gendun Drubpa Buddhist Center is an FPMT Tibetan Buddhist Study Group named after the first Dalai Lama. We are located in Central British Columbia, Canada, near 150 Mile House, 30 minutes from Williams Lake. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and contemplative environment where people can meet the Dharma (the teachings of the Buddha), study and deepen our understanding of the Buddhist path to enlightenment. Our study group is composed of individuals who meet to meditate and study together with the help of a volunteer coordinator.

"When we study Buddhism, we are studying ourselves, the nature of our own minds. Buddhism emphasizes practical matters such as how to lead our lives, how to integrate our minds, and how to keep our everyday lives peaceful and healthy. In other words, Buddhism accentuates experiential knowledge - wisdom rather than a dogmatic view" - Lama Thubten Yeshe, founder of the FPMT
